25th Anniversary Appeal Expedition: Day 36

25-anniversary-expedition-day036Schultzhytta to Meråker. 31km 6hrs. This weekend I’ve had my first human company during the day. My friend Håkon who lives in Trondheim and has helped me position 3 vital resupply packages in the mountains around Trondheim. With the weather forecast to be stunning he asked to join me for the weekend-how could I refuse! It has been a wonderful couple of days, of perfect views, great snow and good company. A relaxed time where I’ve felt fully alive and awake to just how fortunate I am to be engaged in this journey. I confess to feeling honour-bound to break my own trail for the 74km we shared, a fact which Håkon rightly teased me about… but one of the nice things about this journey is that you choose your own rules… and well, that just felt right. 😊 We skied side by side chatting, putting the world to rights, marveling at our shared good fortune to have such hills to ourselves all the way to the outskirts of Meråker… then onto cleared tracks and snowed up roads to my home for the night Fonnfjell hotel Meråker. Tomorrow the forecast is perfect again but I’m back on my own.
