Our Chairman of Trustees, Air Vice-Marshal N J E Kurth CBE FRGS is back in the saddle to raise funds for The Ulysses Trust.
Nick completed the Prudential Ride London – Surrey 100 in 2018 to help raise funds for the Trust’s Anniversary Appeal. And he’s doing it all again this year! We asked him to keep a diary of his training in the build-up to the race.
Here’s his blog #4.
“That is another 40+ miles done today; it is quite satisfying to look around and note you are absolutely miles from home (and a little daunting!) Took the route around part of my Cycling Club’s road racing circuit, which will be in use next weekend. My average speed is getting quicker and I set personal records on 2/3rds of the segments on the route – good news! Great to see a number of fellow club riders whilst out, which was good for morale.
“Swapped the tyres on my bike to my old favourites – Continental Grand Prix 4000S II – and the bike is flying! It is mostly psychological but I will accept the outcome! Only 14 days to the Ride London – Surrey 100 event. Please do consider sponsoring me to benefit the Ulysses Trust. The Charity does a fantastic job supporting Reserves and Cadets undertaking adventurous activities, particularly those with challenging circumstances.”
Please do consider sponsoring the Chairman’s challenge to complete the Ride London – Surrey 100 on 4 August.
