The Ulysses Trust Welcomes New Trustees

The Ulysses Trust is delighted to announce the appointment of two distinguished new Trustees to the charity’s board: Honor Wilson-Fletcher and Dawn McCafferty. Their extensive experience and shared commitment to enhancing opportunities for young people and cadets promise to be invaluable to the Trust’s mission.

Honor Wilson-Fletcher MBE FBES FRGS brings 8 years’ experience from her role as CEO of British Exploring Society and from a variety of non-executive roles in skills development and education to the Ulysses Trust. With much of her career dedicated to fostering young people’s development, and all of it to widening access, Honor’s vision aligns with the Trust’s goal of supporting reserves and cadet units in undertaking challenging and character-building expeditions. She has expressed considerable enthusiasm for learning from and contributing to the Trust’s innovative approaches.

Air Commodore Dawn McCafferty CBE recently retired from her position as Commandant Air Cadets. Known for her dedication to youth development and outdoor activities such as trekking and kayaking, Dawn has been sought after by numerous organisations for trustee roles. Her decision to join The Ulysses Trust reflects her alignment with the charity’s values, aims, and interests in promoting personal growth through adventurous activities.

Brigadier Tim Seal, Chair of The Ulysses Trust, was pleased to announce the appointments which were unanimously accepted by the charity’s Trustee board: “We are thrilled to welcome Honor and Dawn to our board. Their impressive backgrounds and commitment to developing life chances for young people are exactly what we need as we continue to expand our impact. There are exciting developments ahead, and with their expertise, we can achieve even more for our reserves, cadets, and society in general. I am looking forward to their contributions and shaping our future together.”

The Ulysses Trust remains committed to its mission of empowering reserves and cadets by providing financial support and guidance for ambitious and challenging expeditions. The addition of Honor and Dawn to the board strengthens this mission, bringing new perspectives and a wealth of experience to drive the Trust forward.
